3 Must Haves For Any Business

Oct 21, 2021

We have had this conversation with business owners more than once, so we wanted to share it with you. Below are three must-haves for any business. Hopefully, this will provide clarity on the different hosting services and why you need them.

✔️
Domain Hosting is your name (ex. speckdesigns.com). If you want to have an online presence you will need to purchase a domain name. Lucky for you there are a ton of places where you can do this. We love the simplicity of domains.google.com plus they start at only $12/yr. You also have a variety of endings you can choose from such as .com, .org, .net, .info, .us, and more. The ending depends on the type of business you operate. The most common is .com but if you are an organization, it is recommended to use .org. Network-based businesses such as a provider of services like internet, website hosting, and databases should use a .net domain ending. When choosing a domain name, you will want to try to keep it short and be your business name. Sometimes you may have to get creative and add a hyphen or additional letters to find a domain name that is not already taken. Just head to domains.google.com and start testing out some options and see what is available.

✔️
Website Hosting is your online reputation. Out of all three, this is the one that makes the most sense to people. In order to have a website for people to view, you need to pay for it to be online. All of the backend code, images, and assets of your website will need to be stored on servers in order for the website to function. Our website hosting includes extra security, a content delivery network (CDN) to prevent downtime, plus many more unique features at no extra cost to keep your website optimized and running strong. Some cheaper hosting plans will make you pay for extras such as SSL security.

✔️
Email Hosting is your relationship with others. If you have a business, you need to look professional and that includes your email. For example, let’s say you were to receive an email from us, what looks better to you?

The ending of your email informs the reader that you care about your business. It is also important that you nurture your relationships. You can’t see everyone every day or week or even month. However, you can send them an email updating them about what is happening with your business, helpful information, any specials, or tips and tricks. Let them know you care about your business by having your domain name as your email address and staying in touch with them via email.

Do you need to update your website or are you thinking about ways of staying in touch with your customers? We would love to have a conversation about any of this with you. Let’s talk.
